Blackbird Singing in the Dead of Night...

All that we send into the lives of others comes back into our own. -Edwin Markham

Today I am posting a rework of one of the Spring Card Kits I did with my LOStie Sisters a few weeks ago...this kit was sent by Barb and is soooo pretty, I originally had very little black on it besides the image and had no sentiment on the outside and the inside was blank...Fast Forward to the night before our family April Birthday Celebration and I had no card for my SIL. I had made this Sweet Pea card for my Mom to give to her, but nothing from me!!!!

My SIL loves All things Orange, so I grabbed my Card Kit card and CAREFULLY lifted the layers, added a black layer to the image and a Black Pearl to the swirl, then a HB sentiment and worked a little on the inside, Voila! Birthday card for SIL!

I added some Basic Grey swirls and a sentiment for a quick inside...

Supplies:
Stamps: Birds Galore (
Inkadinkado,) Flower Swash (Basic Grey)
Paper: Very Vanilla (SU,) Bazzill, Martha Stewart PP
Ink: Peach Chalk (Colorbox,) Pallette Noir
Misc:
Stardust Stickles, Swirl Die, Black Pearl, Lace, Paper Piercing Tool, Pop-up Glue Dots

Thanks for stopping by! (If you would like to see what the other ladies did with this kit click HERE)

Get Carried Away...

You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend. -Paul Sweeney

It's Day three of Elzybells April Sneak peeks, I am loving all the super cute Teddy Bears Elizabeth drew for us this time around...so fun to color and play with.

When I first stamped this image and started coloring I had every intention of making a card, but then I was looking at it and it made me think of reading, I don't know why...maybe because I am half way thru Book 7 of the Harry Potter series and I truly believe the quote above, I am getting a little depressed that when I am done with this book I am Done. :( Whatever it was, I just decided to change my tack completely and turned the image into a book mark...

I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS, added some Stardust Stickles to the balloon and then hand lettered the sentiment along the side. I layered the image on Pure Poppy CS and then with Bella Blvd Easter Grass patterned paper. After the stickles were dry I laminated the whole thing with the sticky lamination paper and then added an eyelet. The tassel is handmade with Embroidery Floss...my first, please be kind! ;)

Supplies:
Stamps: Teddy Antics (Elzybells)
Paper: White, Pure Poppy (PTI,) Easter Grass (Bella Blvd,) Laminting Sheet
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Misc: Stardust Stickes, Silver Eyelet, Tassel, Prismacolor Pencils, OMS, Blending Stumps
