Strawberry Goodness...

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see. -The Beatles
Here is my card inspired by this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge. I used the Yummalicious Garden Variety Papers and Chipboard from Cosmo Cricket. The chipboard flowers are So fun! I added a button to the center of each one. The layout fro this card for this week's Pink Elephant sketch, it was a struggle for me, but I think I like how it ended up!

The inside is simple and uses up some of the leftover paper scraps...
Supplies:
Stamps: Sentiments (Stampavie,) Sweet Friend (a muse)
Paper: Garden Variety (Cosmo Cricket,) Wild Wasabi, So Saffron (SU)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Misc: Dew Drops, Buttons, Scrapper's Floss, Stardust Stickles, Chipboard Flowers

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Butterfly...

The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough. ~Rabindranath Tagore I was so excited when I opened my Say It With Letters package this week!!! A Big Bold Beautiful Butterfly!!! I pulled out my 12x12 paper storage and started lookin gat all the floral papers I had, the spring papers, the pinks and purples and yellows...but when I saw this older Chatterbox paper sitting there I Knew that is what I wanted to use! I had 2 sheets, so I used the back side for the base, then after I outlined the shape and cut it out I laid the negative over the floral side and freehanded the shape a bit smaller. I used my Janome Sew Mini around the edges...sort of, lol, I am Not a straight sew-er! :) I attached the green base paper with Decoupage Gel, then glued the floral piece on with Mono Multi.

After the papers were attached I just started grabbing things...LOL :) I knew I wanted to add Pearls, so I grabbed a few Zva Creative Pearl Swirls and just played around, I ended up using 2 different large swirls to get them to go the correct direction, then added a small one to the lower part of each wing.

I added some white Prima flowers scattered around, topped each of them with a vintage button and then pulled out my Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and just scattered those around as well...this project was Very haphazard as you can see. :) I added some Liquid Pearls to the spines of each butterfly and stickled the wings, then that didn't seem like enough, LOL, so I added some blue Rose Buds, Leaf punches AND a fairy image from Sweet November!

I'm not sure if you can see, but I also painted the edge white and adhered some French Blue Grosgrain ribbon to it. I really think I added some of Everything to this poor butterfly...hopefully he can still fly! LOL :)

I just Love this sweet little fairy that Amy Young designed, she is colored with Copics and I did a little highlighting with a White Gel Pen and more Stickles...
Thanks for stopping by, sorry this post was SO picture heavy, but this butterfly shape is just so fun to work with!!!!

Stitched Thanks...

Buttons and patches and the cold wind blowing, The days pass quickly when I am sewing. ~Author Unknown
I used this week's Fall-to-Layout at Clean and Simple Stamping for my card today as well as this week's Cupcake. I used the sewing, buttons and pastel colors with gray as my inspiration. I pulled out my ippity Because of You set and omitted just the center of the fun stitched daisy stamp. I stamped it in Pretty in Pink, then used a damp Qtip to take off the side swirls, then with that same damp Qtip I rubbed just a touch of color onto each petal and then sponged the inside with Marigold Morning. The paper is Basic Grey's new Sugar Rush, I wasn't sure I Loved this paper at first, but now it is really growing on me!!! The grey button is from the new Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride line, I LOVE that Cosmo added buttons to their line up!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Because of You (ippity,) Sentiments (Stampavie)
Paper: Sugar Rush (Basic Grey,) Going Grey, Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Basic Grey, Pretty in Pink, Marigold Morning (SU)
Misc: Cosmo Cricket Button, PTI Vintage Button, PTI Stitched Twill ribbon, Pop Up Glue Dots, Sewing Machine

Wise Old Birthday Owl...

A wise old owl sat on an oak; The more he saw the less he spoke; The less he spoke the more he heard -Unknown

I was finally able to play along with the Blogger's Challenge ON TIME this week! :) This week's challenge was a sketch, my favorite kind of challenge!! I pulled out the last of my Basic Grey Porcelain Paper and a fun Inkadinkado Sleepy Owl...the owl is colored with Copics and than I added stickles (Of course!) I added a touch of orange to the owl and a strip of paper for this week's Ways to Use it Challenge on SCS. The strip of light orange paper is stamped with a Prima cheesecloth stamp and on top of that is a small scrap of Brown Twill Ribbon (does this qualify for The Pink Elephant Challenge to use ribbon? I think so! LOL) and the sentiment is by Rachelle Anne Miller for Stampavie...

I added one of my favorite sentiments from Verve's Beautiful You to the inside...
Supplies:
Stamps: Inkadinkado Sleepy Owl, Verve Beautiful You, Stampavie Sentiments
Paper: Basic Grey Porcelain, Textured Brown, Orange, Stampers Select White
Ink: Marigold Morning, Memento Rich Cocoa
Misc: Twill Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Bling, Stickles

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Pea Birthday...

Can we conceive what humanity would be if it did not know the flowers? ~Maurice Maeterlinck
I was finally able to get a decent picture of my Cupcake Inspiration card, I know I complain about cameras a lot, but is it really that hard to make a decent camera??? My Brand New camera has a shadow in the corner of every picture! And it takes Grainy pictures...is that because of the MP? it seems like my smaller MP camera was Less grainy than my larger MP camera????!?!?!

Anyway, I grabbed my Flourishes Sweet Pea set for this card, I LOVE this set, Sweet Peas are one of my Favorite flowers! I used a few scraps of Nook & Pantry paper, my Nesties and just a few embellishments, the image and the stardust stickles steal the show on this one I think...
Here is a look at the inside...
This card is for the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge, Cupcake Craft Challenge (Keep it Simple,) Pink Elephant (Use ribbon) & the sketch is from Mercy.

Supplies:
Stamps: Flourishes Sweet Pea, Stampavie Rachelle Anne Miller Sentiments
Paper: Basic Grey Nook & Pantry, Memory Box Blush, Vanilla Bean
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Misc: Corner Rounder, Stardust Stickles, MSCrafts Ribbon, Button, Oval Nesties, Pearls

We'd love to have you play along with the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge, you have until Sat at 9 pm to be in the running for the Top 5!
